Start Raising Young African Lives (SRYAL) is a youth-led Community Development Center dedicated to strengthening African immigrant and refugee communities by investing in youth and young adults of African descent.
Guided by lived experience, fresh perspectives, and innovative ideas, SRYAL believes that youthfulness is a state of mind—one that renews thinking, inspires creativity, and drives meaningful change at any age. This mindset allows us to remain responsive, adaptive, and deeply connected to the evolving needs of our community.
We work in partnership with families, elders, community leaders, schools, faith institutions, and local organizations to create safe, inclusive spaces where youth feel valued, empowered, and actively involved in leadership and decision-making.
